John Boucher Personal Information

At the age of forty-six I started my company, Painted Dogs, and became a dog portrait artist. I finished some work, had my first show, sold my first painting, accepted my first commission, put up a website, and had business cards printed. It's funny, because my brother Marko went to art school and is a painter in LA. My brother Brian got his degree in art history and is an art critic in New York. Me, I work as an efficiency expert.

My wife Carolyn and I live in Santa Fe with our dogs, cats, birds, and the hundreds of field mice who infest our house and chew the wires on the appliances. At night the coyotes sing in the desert behind our house. Our dogs join in, then the dogs in the other houses start up, and pretty soon the whole neighborhood rings with singing dogs. We've been out here three years now, but it still makes me cry.
