Greg Smith Personal Information
My photographs, both color and black-and-white, are "found." I notice a subject and photograph it as I find it in the everyday world, rather than manufacturing compositions in a studio.
In developing an image later with digital darkroom techniques, I try to bring out the particular quality that struck me about the subject when I first encountered it.
Some photographs are journalistic, telling a story, while others emphasize formal elements such as shape, juxtaposition, color, and pattern. There is never any electronic (or other) assembly of multiple images. Just actual moments on a beautiful planet.
